---------------------------------- Give this to those who will be the boys. A new method of dating offers the hope you won't have to waste as much time getting through the duds (a person your not interested in) to find the delights.Speed dating has been popular in larger metropolitan areas in recent years. After that time is up you have to go on a date with the next person and get to know as much as you can about them. You must fill in the information about who you are and you can be whatever you want to be.You have to try to make yourself as interesting as possible. (example, manager of a company or a rock star) 2: How much money do earn in one month? In fifth grade, one row of students sat facing the computer screen, while another row of students sat facing their partner.Students facing the screen had to describe the image in view. This project is for introducing oneself and starting conversations. If you have an unbalance amount of either boys and girls some will have to change their sex. Concentric circle exercise Half the class are boys and the other half are girls.
It's over in 30 minutes, and when it ends, the speed daters write down who they would like to see again. An article from student will go on a date which only last a few minutes and within that time you will try to get to know as much as you can about that person. You can teach useful Spanish vocabulary through games on Valentine's Day!Word searches, crossword puzzles, hangman, fly swatter, memory cards... And learning additional vocabulary words is never a waste of time. The fifth graders were so interested to finding out what "speed dating" was (as stated on the board), that I had to give them a similar speaking activity! An additional photo from 6th grade shows part of their in-class review for today's food quiz, where we played Unicornio. We played our own version of the dating game, focusing on the structures “Quiero que seas” and “Quiero que tengas”.This activity needed very little prep, and NO copies needed to be made!It works towards the end of the unit when you want a speaking level without doing formal teacher assessments. It requires a set of questions prepared by students in a previous homework. This is such a FUN way to get your students speaking in the Target Language! ) Have fun with these yummy treats and help your students learn some fun Spanish vocabulary too!Depending on your class sizes & ability levels, this activity can last anywhere between 15-30 minutes (and even longer if you include extension activities). (It's worth noting that there are lesson plans available on Tp T for the game of Citas Rapidas, and while they can make this game run more smoothly, they aren't necessary for you to give it a try with your students.) Are you lucky enough to live in a part of the country (or world) where they sell Spanish Conversation hearts (Corazones Dulces)? I learned about this cute activity from Alison (Mis Clases Locas) when she posted a picture of it to her IG account last year: All you need are Spanish Conversation hearts and this free download from Spanish Playground! Don't have the budget to purchase Corazones Dulces for your students?Have your students create Corazones Dulces decorations for your classroom using construction paper and the words & phrases normally found on Corazones Dulces (or they can come up with some of their own in the TL! Danyell Farris, a teacher in Oklahoma, was kind enough to share this example photo with us.A fun idea from Elisabeth (Spanish Mama) is the Freeze Challenge! (see left) Other ideas- "Find Something / Touch Something" with a Valentine's Day theme- "Find something red," "Touch something that has hearts on it."
